What is Marketing Cloud Next or Agentforce Marketing and should Australian organisations migrate to it?
Marketing Cloud Next (now renamed to Agentforce Marketing) is Salesforce’s next-generation agentic marketing platform, built natively on the Salesforce core platform. It introduces AI-powered campaign creation via Agentforce, two-way conversational email, Journey Decisioning Agents and deep Data Cloud integration. The Spring 2026 release was the largest update to the platform to date. Australian organisations currently on Marketing Cloud Engagement and Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (Pardot) do not need to migrate immediately, but should begin planning now. We offer a range of packages to help commercial and nonprofit organisations of different sizes and needs to migrate to this powerful platform.

Asana is a work management platform that replaces the fragmented mix of emails, spreadsheets, and status meetings with a single place where work is planned, tracked, and delivered.

What is Data 360 and how is it different from Data Cloud?
Data 360 is the new name for Salesforce Data Cloud. The rename reflects how central it’s become to the broader Salesforce platform, not just as a data storage tool but as the activation engine that powers Agentforce, Marketing Cloud Next, and other Salesforce clouds. If you’ve been working with Data Cloud, you’re already working with Data 360.
Is Data 360 just a Customer Data Platform?
Data 360 started out being positioned alongside customer data platforms, and it’s recognised as a CDP leader by both Gartner and Forrester. But calling it a CDP undersells what it actually does. A traditional CDP unifies customer data for marketing use. Salesforce Data 360 does that and then makes unified data available across sales, service, commerce, and AI agents in real time, enabling activation across marketing campaigns and more. The distinction matters when you’re evaluating it, don’t compare it only against other CDPs.
How does Salesforce Data 360 work?
Data 360 connects data from across your business, from CRM records and transaction history to emails, documents, and external platforms, and harmonises it into a single, unified customer profile. This unified profile is then made available across every Salesforce application and every Agentforce AI agent. The platform uses identity resolution to reconcile duplicate or fragmented records across systems, so what you end up with is one trusted view of each customer rather than multiple partial ones.
What problem does Data 360 actually solve?
Most organisations have data sitting across a large number of disconnected systems. That fragmentation means your marketing platform doesn’t know what your service team knows, your AI agents are working without full context, and there’s always a lag between something happening and your business being able to respond. Data 360 closes that gap. By unifying customer data across Salesforce and connecting to external data sources, it gives every team and every AI agent the context they need to act quickly and accurately.
What is Data Cloud identity resolution and how does it work in Data 360?
Identity resolution is the process of matching and merging customer records from different systems into a single, unified profile. In Data 360, identity resolution runs automatically, reconciling records by email address, phone number, device ID, loyalty number, or any other identifier your business uses. This is one of the most significant capabilities in the platform. Without it, personalisation and AI-driven engagement are limited by fragmented or duplicate data. With it, every interaction is informed by a complete picture of the customer.
Do I need to move all my data into Salesforce to use Data 360?
No, and this is one of the more important things to understand about how Salesforce Data 360 works. Data 360 is built on a Zero Copy foundation, which means it can access data from your existing data lakes and warehouses without physically moving it. There are also over 200 pre-built connectors to bring in data from external platforms. The goal is to make your existing data actionable within Salesforce, not to force a migration or rebuild your data infrastructure.
What's the relationship between Data 360 and Agentforce?
Data 360 is the data foundation that makes Agentforce work properly. Agentforce AI agents need context to act. They need to know who the customer is, what’s happened before, and what’s relevant right now. That context comes from Data 360. Without a well-configured Data 360 layer, Agentforce agents are operating with incomplete information, which limits what they can do and increases the risk of unhelpful or inaccurate responses. If you’re planning an Agentforce implementation, Data 360 readiness needs to be part of the conversation from the start.
Is Data 360 included in Marketing Cloud Next?
Yes. Data 360 is the foundation of the Marketing Cloud Next and the Agentforce marketing products. That said, having access to Data 360 is not the same as being ready to use it. The platform can only deliver on its potential if your underlying data is in good shape. Fragmented, inconsistent, or poorly governed data limits what’s possible regardless of what’s included in your licence.
What does a Data 360 implementation involve?
A Data Cloud or Data 360 implementation typically involves connecting your data sources, running identity resolution to build unified customer profiles, setting up data governance and access policies, and then configuring segmentation, calculated insights, and activation flows. How long this takes depends on how many data sources you’re working with and the current state of your data. We generally recommend starting with one or two clearly defined use cases rather than trying to connect everything at once. We find this generates fast return on investment (ROI) and lower organisational risk.
How do I know if our data is ready for Data 360?
The good news is that your data doesn’t have to be perfect to get started. Most organisations have data siloed across different business units or stored in various formats, and that’s exactly the reality Data 360 is built to handle. Rather than a time-consuming data cleanse, we focus on data harmonisation. As a standard part of every Data 360 and Data Cloud engagement, we run a readiness assessment to map your current landscape, understand your existing systems, and establish clear governance. This foundational step saves significant time and cost, paving the way for a smooth implementation.
What is Salesforce Marketing Cloud Next?
Marketing Cloud Next (or Agentforce Marketing) is Salesforce’s next-generation marketing platform, built natively on the Salesforce platform with Data 360 and Agentforce AI at its core. Unlike Marketing Cloud Engagement, which runs on a separate architecture, Marketing Cloud Next shares the same platform foundation as Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and other Salesforce products, meaning customer data, marketing data, and service data all live in a single unified profile rather than being connected through integrations. It’s designed for organisations that want to move from campaign-based marketing to real-time, AI-driven customer engagement at scale.
What does Marketing Cloud Next include?
Marketing Cloud Next is available in two editions, Growth and Advanced, and includes Data 360, Agentforce Marketing, Flow-based journey orchestration, native email and SMS, personalisation, and consent management (depending on the edition). The Advanced edition adds more sophisticated AI capabilities, higher data volumes, and additional channel support. Both editions include Data 360 as standard, which is the unified data layer that makes personalisation and AI-driven engagement possible. For Australian organisations evaluating the platform, the edition choice typically comes down to data volume, the complexity of your customer journeys, and how quickly you want to activate Agentforce.
Who is Marketing Cloud Next designed for?
Marketing Cloud Next is designed for B2C and B2B organisations that want their marketing platform to work natively with the rest of their Salesforce investment rather than alongside it. It’s particularly well suited to organisations managing complex, multi-channel customer journeys across marketing, sales, and service, where the gap between what the marketing team knows and what the service or sales team knows has historically created friction. If you’re running Marketing Cloud Engagement and finding the CRM data integration overhead increasingly painful, Marketing Cloud Next is worth a serious look. If you’re on Account Engagement and primarily running B2B demand generation, the picture is more nuanced and worth a conversation before migrating.
Is Marketing Cloud Engagement being retired?
No. Salesforce has been clear that Marketing Cloud Engagement is not being retired. It continues to be actively developed and supported. Marketing Cloud Next is a new platform that sits alongside your existing Salesforce marketing tools, not a replacement for them. Organisations on Marketing Cloud Engagement can move to Marketing Cloud Next at their own pace, and in the meantime can access many new capabilities through Marketing Cloud+ without migrating anything.
What is the difference between Marketing Cloud Engagement and Marketing Cloud Next?
Marketing Cloud Engagement (formerly ExactTarget) is the established Salesforce marketing platform for B2C email, SMS, push notifications, and Journey Builder-based orchestration. It runs on a separate architecture to the core Salesforce platform, which means connecting it to CRM data has always required additional integration work. Marketing Cloud Next is built natively on the Salesforce platform with Data 360 at its core, meaning CRM data, marketing data, and service data all share the same unified customer profile. It also includes Agentforce AI agents as a first-class capability rather than a bolt-on. For Australian organisations evaluating their Salesforce marketing stack, understanding this architectural difference is the most important starting point.
What's happening to Journey Builder?
Journey Builder isn’t going away, but Flow is where Salesforce is building new orchestration capability. The practical approach for most teams right now is to maintain what’s running in Journey Builder and start building Flow capability for net-new use cases, particularly anything connecting across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or Agentforce. We help clients map out what that migration path looks like for their specific setup. It also means that existing Salesforce Administrators can assist marketing efforts like never before.
How does Marketing Cloud Next handle consent management?
Consent management in Marketing Cloud Next is handled natively through the Salesforce platform. Because Marketing Cloud Next is built on Data 360, consent preferences are captured at the unified profile level and respected automatically across every channel and every touchpoint, email, SMS, push and WhatsApp. This makes it considerably easier to maintain compliance and ensure consistent customer experiences across your marketing operations.
Does Marketing Cloud Next replace Account Engagement (Pardot)?
No. Account Engagement is a separate Salesforce marketing product with its own roadmap and it is not being retired. Account Engagement customers can access Marketing Cloud Next features through Permission Set Licences added to their existing SKU, including Agentforce Campaign Creation, native SMS, and advanced personalisation. For most B2B marketing teams, the right approach is to stay on Account Engagement and layer in Marketing Cloud Next capabilities progressively rather than migrating entirely. The right answer depends on your specific setup and we’ll tell you honestly which path makes more sense.
Is Marketing Cloud Next suitable for B2B as well as B2C marketing?
Yes. One of the stated goals of Marketing Cloud Next is to resolve the historical divide between Marketing Cloud Engagement, which was primarily built for B2C, and Account Engagement, which was primarily built for B2B. Marketing Cloud Next is designed to serve both on a single Salesforce platform with a unified customer profile. That said, Account Engagement remains the strong fit for many B2B teams today, particularly those with complex lead scoring and Sales Cloud alignment requirements.
What is Agentforce Marketing?
Agentforce Marketing is the new name for Marketing Cloud Next.
How long does a Marketing Cloud implementation take?
It depends on scope and what Salesforce infrastructure already in place. A focused Marketing Cloud Engagement implementation covering email, SMS, journeys, integrations, and training typically runs between four and twelve weeks. We recommend a phased approach: start with one or two high-value use cases, validate results, then expand. It’s faster to value and lower risk than a big-bang implementation.
What should I look for in a Salesforce Marketing Cloud partner in Australia?
Ask for specific examples of Marketing Cloud implementations delivered for Australian businesses. Ask whether they have hands-on experience across both Marketing Cloud Engagement and Marketing Cloud Next, and whether they can support Account Engagement. Ask how they approach Journey Builder to Flow migrations. Ask what their process is for data quality and Data 360 readiness before implementation begins. And ask who will actually be doing the work, not just who will be on the sales call.
What is Salesforce Agentforce Nonprofit?
Agentforce Nonprofit is Salesforce’s platform for not-for-profit organisations, combining a purpose-built fundraising and program management CRM with autonomous AI agents designed specifically for the sector. It was rebranded from Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud and the platform has shifted from a system that stores and manages data to one that actively acts on it. AI agents can now handle prospect research, donor support, grant reporting, volunteer coordination, and more.
How is Agentforce Nonprofit different from Nonprofit Cloud?
Agentforce Nonprofit is the evolution of Nonprofit Cloud, built on the same underlying data model with the same CRM foundations your team already knows. What’s changed is the addition of purpose-built AI agents for fundraising, program management, volunteer coordination, and donor support. The platform now does significantly more, and the innovation roadmap going forward is focused here rather than on the legacy or NonProfit Success Pack (NPSP).
Who is Agentforce Nonprofit designed for?
Agentforce Nonprofit is designed for Australian not-for-profit organisations of different sizes, from community organisations managing donor relationships and programs on a lean team, to large nonprofits running complex multi-program operations across multiple states. It’s particularly well suited to organisations that want to get more from their CRM investment, or those moving off spreadsheets and fragmented systems for the first time.
What can Agentforce agents actually do for a fundraising team?
The most immediate application is prospect research. The Prospect Research Agent pulls together a donor’s giving history, wealth indicators, philanthropic interests, and engagement activity so a fundraiser can walk into a meeting fully prepared, without spending hours on manual research. The Donor Support Agent handles routine donor enquiries and self-service, freeing your team to focus on relationship-building rather than answering administrative questions. Beyond these out-of-the-box agents, organisations are building custom agents for grant reporting, impact storytelling, event communications, and volunteer coordination, tasks that currently consume significant staff time in most not-for-profit teams.
Can Agentforce help with grant management and reporting?
Yes, and this is one of the highest-value applications. Grant reporting is typically time-intensive, requiring staff to pull data from multiple sources, write narrative sections, and format reports differently for each funder. Custom Agentforce agents can automate much of this, gathering the relevant program data, generating report drafts, and surfacing the specific metrics each funder requires. Organisations have reduced multi-day, multi-person reporting processes to under an hour using custom grant reporting agents built on the Agentforce Nonprofit platform.
How do we handle data privacy and donor confidentiality with AI agents?
This is one of the most important questions to ask before any Agentforce implementation, and one we take seriously in every not-for-profit engagement. Agentforce agents operate entirely within the Salesforce platform, meaning they work within your existing data governance, role-based access controls, and privacy settings. Donor data doesn’t leave the platform or get sent to a third-party AI service. That said, how you configure agents matters. We design every implementation with clear guardrails, human review points for sensitive communications, and data minimisation principles so agents only access what they need for their specific function.
What is the difference between Agentforce Nonprofit and Agentforce Marketing for Nonprofits?
Agentforce Marketing handles outbound donor communications, including email campaigns, donor journey automation, segmentation, and multi-channel engagement. Agentforce Nonprofit is the broader operational platform covering fundraising CRM, program management, volunteer coordination, and the AI agents that work across all of those functions. The two work together, and many not-for-profit organisations use Agentforce Marketing for donor communications and Agentforce Nonprofit as their core platform. We help you understand which combination makes sense for your organisation and how to connect them so data flows cleanly between them.
How long does an Agentforce Nonprofit implementation take?
A focused implementation, for example, implementing fundraising functionality on a new Salesforce instance with clean data, can typically be done in eight to twelve weeks. A full Agentforce Nonprofit deployment including NPSP data migration, agent configuration, staff training, and change management typically takes three to six months. The most important variables are data quality and your availability. Not-for-profit organisations with well-maintained Salesforce data and the ability to make decisions quickly move significantly faster than those with years of incomplete or inconsistent records. We run a data readiness assessment before scoping any timeline.
What should we look for in a Salesforce not-for-profit implementation partner in Australia?
Look for partners with direct experience implementing Salesforce for Australian not-for-profit organisations, not just general Salesforce experience. Ask:
- Whether they’ve worked with NPSP and Agentforce Nonprofit specifically.
- If they understand the data models, program management requirements, and fundraising workflows unique to the sector.
- Ask for examples of not-for-profit implementations they’ve delivered, what the challenges were, and what the outcomes looked like.
How they approach change management and bringing team members on the journey to ensure the implementation sticks.
What is Asana and how is it different from a project management tool?
Asana is a work management platform, and this distinction matters. A project management tool tracks tasks and deadlines within a defined project. Asana connects individual tasks to cross-functional programs, to organisational goals, and now to AI agents that can take action on work alongside your team. Most organisations that move to Asana do so because they’ve outgrown spreadsheets and email threads, but what they stay for is visibility across everything the business is running, and work flow alignment to the overall business goals.
What is the Work Graph and why does it matter?
The Work Graph is Asana’s underlying data model. It captures who is doing what, by when, how, and why, across every piece of work in your organisation. It’s what makes Asana more than a task list. Because the platform holds this full context, AI features can operate with precision rather than guesswork, automation can trigger on meaningful conditions rather than just dates or status changes, and managers can see real dependencies and capacity issues rather than just a list of green and red indicators. Most of the AI functionality in Asana is effective specifically because it’s grounded in the Work Graph.
What are AI Teammates and how do they work?
AI Teammates are autonomous collaborators you can assign work to, just as you would a team member. You give them tasks, they respond with updates, surface risks, and take defined actions, across campaign management, creative production, IT ticketing, strategic planning, and more. The key difference from a general AI assistant is that they operate within the full context of your organisation’s actual work, not in isolation. They understand priorities, dependencies, and your specific workflows. AI Teammates are available in beta and continue to develop with each release cycle.
What is AI Studio?
AI Studio is Asana’s no-code builder for creating AI-powered workflows. You describe what the AI needs to do, such as triage incoming requests, summarise briefs, rename tasks, check for duplicates, route work to the right owner. AI Studio builds the automation without requiring any technical configuration. It’s available from the Starter plan upward and is where most teams start when they want to move beyond basic rule-based automation into something that can handle more variable, judgment-based work.
How does Asana handle work requests and intake?
Asana includes structured intake through forms that can capture requests, automatically route them to the right team, and trigger workflows from the moment something is submitted. AI can check submissions for missing information, flag duplicates, and triage by priority before anyone on your team has to look at it. For organisations managing high volumes of inbound work, including marketing requests, IT tickets, operational requests, this is one of the highest-value use cases and one of the fastest to implement.
How does Asana integrate with Salesforce?
Salesforce integration is available on the Advanced plan and above. It means your sales and marketing teams can see Asana task and project data alongside Salesforce records without switching platforms, and Asana workflows can be triggered or updated by activity in Salesforce. For teams running campaigns or account-based programs where execution in Asana needs to stay connected to pipeline or customer data in Salesforce, this integration removes a common coordination gap. We can help you set up the integration and design the workflow logic that makes it genuinely useful rather than just technically connected.
How long does an Asana implementation take?
A focused implementation for a single team or department, including setup, templates, workflow configuration, and training, can typically be done in four to six weeks. A broader rollout across multiple teams with custom workflows, integrations, and reporting dashboards takes longer, usually six to twelve weeks depending on complexity. The fastest path to value is almost always to start with one or two well-defined use cases, get those working well, and expand from there. Starting with everything at once tends to create adoption problems that take longer to fix than the rollout itself.
What should I look for when evaluating an Asana partner?
Ask for examples of Asana implementations they’ve delivered for Australian businesses and what business problems were actually solved, not just what was configured. Some areas to review might include:
- Whether they understand the distinction between Asana as a task tool and Asana as a work management platform.
- If they help you design workflows that connect to your broader strategy.
- How they approach change management and user adoption.
Who will do the actual work, not just who will run the sales process.
Is Asana suitable for nonprofit organisations?
Yes, and nonprofit organisations may be eligible for discounted pricing on Starter and Advanced plans for eligible nonprofits. The platform is well-suited to nonprofits managing programs, grant reporting, campaigns, and cross-functional teams with limited resources. AI automation in particular can significantly reduce the administrative overhead that tends to consume disproportionate capacity in lean nonprofit teams. We work with a number of nonprofit clients and can help you structure Asana in a way that maps to how your organisation actually operates.
