Salesforce’s Winter ’26 release brings something fresh. It’s not just another round of platform updates. It’s a genuine step toward marketing that feels faster, smarter, and more human.
At Double H Marketing, we’ve been exploring what’s new so you don’t have to wade through the release notes. Here’s what’s changed, why it matters, and how you can make the most of it.
Marketing gets a smart new assistant
The biggest theme in Winter ’26 is the rise of Agentforce, Salesforce’s new generation of AI helpers that connect across the platform.
The new Content Builder Agent is now grounded in your designated brand voice and business rules. It lives right where you build emails, SMS, and landing pages, acting as a true co-pilot. This dramatically speeds up content creation while ensuring brand consistency.
There’s also more flexibility in how campaigns are built. Using Agentforce, you can configure Flows that automatically add approvals, assign campaign owners, or alert Sales. It’s automation with your unique business logic baked in.
Data 360 helps you get personal, faster
You might have noticed a name change. Salesforce Data Cloud is now called Data 360. That name says a lot about where things are heading.
Data 360 is designed to help you not only unify data but act on it in real time. That means you can trigger a journey or message the moment someone qualifies for a segment, like a customer leaving a high-value cart behind.
Core updates here include:
- Stronger identity resolution: New rules like Lead to Contact and Device to Known make it easier to remove duplicates and maintain clean, compliant data.
- Audience Prioritisation: A feature called Waterfall Segmentation helps you prioritise audiences so each person only receives the single most relevant message.
In practice, this all means cleaner profiles, sharper targeting, and more personalised engagement, without the wait.
Everyday improvements you’ll actually notice
Not every update makes headlines, but some make life a lot easier:
- Audit Trail: You can now download all journey history directly from your dashboard instead of relying on the API. Comparing flow versions is simpler, too, so troubleshooting is less of a headache.
- Compliance: New Blockout Windows for SMS and WhatsApp help you stay compliant and avoid sending messages at the wrong hour.
- Lead Capture: New Form Handlers let you map external web form fields directly into Salesforce without having to rebuild forms.
- Scale: Limited General Availability of Business Unit support in Marketing Cloud Next is starting to roll out, giving larger businesses more control over data and teams across different regions or brands.
They’re small changes that add up to smoother, safer, more reliable marketing operations.
Where to start
We know it’s easy to feel like Salesforce releases move faster than you can keep up. So here are a few simple steps to help you get a handle on this one:
- Check your setup
Are you using Agentforce Marketing or Marketing Cloud Advanced? If so, you’ll get the most out of Agentforce and the new templates. Make sure your content blocks and brand voice guidelines are ready for automation. - Tidy your data
With Data 360 taking centre stage, now’s a great time to clean up duplicates, review identity rules, and check that segmentation is accurate and fast. - Look for easy wins with AI
Think about where AI could save you time, for example, writing content, setting up campaigns, or routing approvals. Start small, and build confidence as you go. - Keep it safe and governed
The more automation you use, the more important it is to have clear rules around approvals, data use, and voice. A light governance framework now will save you time later.
